If someone is bipolar would they tend to cheat a lot on their gf?!

Question: Absolutely. It would be something they wouldn't have a lot control over unless they were on medication and in treatment. People with bipolar go thru cycles of hyper-sexuality (during their "manic" stage) which means they would have a very difficult time remaining faithful. That's why treatment (therapy) and medication are so important. My brother is bipolar. Without treatment and medication, he was a mess. But luckily he's getting both and life, including his relationship, is much better now.

probably, depending on severity of the condition

If the bipolar was in a manic state, it is possible. Because when in a manic episode, the bipolar will engage in very risky behavior including but not limited to unprotected sex, wild spending sprees and otherwise very very risky behavior. Google bipolar and look up the manic phase of the illness. Good luck.

No, and I am tired of people using that particular illness as an excuse for lack of morals. Why can't they go through their phase of hyper-sexuality with ONE person?

Generally, Yes, when they are in the manic state, they do things they would not do in the normal state of mind.

No its an excuse. Has anyone NOT got Bipolar these days???

Bipolar disorders have two distinct phases; a depressive phase and manic phase. During the manic phase individuals often suffer from extremely high energy level leading them to be hyperactive. They often sleep little. Many individuals may also have delusions of Grandeur( a false belief of being invincible, superior and famous). Inappropriate sexual behaviour is another symptom often seen in manic individuals.
So if the person in question is not being treated or is off his/her medication and is going through a manic phase, he/she can very well be cheating on a loved one without any remorse or realization of his/her actions.

I would say that CAN happen. but here are some things to think about:

there would be OTHER major symptoms, like sleeping only 2 hours a night, heavy drinking, driving way too fast, spending wads of money on stuff they wouldn't even want, etc.

They would push the gf for a lot more sex, in general.

I think it would be hard for a person who is cheating a LOT due to their bipolar to continue to hold down a job, etc. I mean, at that point, i would say the gf should be making their bf go to the psychiatrist for a med adjustment. there are VERY effective treatments for mania (much less so for depression or mixed moods) or consider a hospitalization.

That said, I did do computer sex and even phone sex when I had very severe mania due to prozac (didn't have a biplar diagnosis then) BUT I did bug my husband for sex a lot, I was hardly ever sleeping, and he did nothing to help me out (and the docs just kept feeding me more and more prozac). And my normal behavior was extremely conservative, too. NO history of this kind of behavior.

just becuase someone cheats on thier spouse dosne't mean they are bipolar, BUT people who are bipolar CAN cheat on theier spouse...... got it?
