Bad sleeping hours and anxiety disorder?!


Question: I know not sleeping at night can cause you have anxiety disorder because there is a hormone which only works between 10 pm to 5 am or something like that and our bodies need that.

My body clock is f**ked up. I sleep between 4 am to 12 pm for the last few years and suffer from anxiety disorder. How much sleeping effects anxiety disorder? Do I have it because of this?

aw man, doesn't anxiety suck? i've had GAD my whole life & it tortures me. it's better at times than others. when it flares up & gets worse i have horrible trouble sleeping. i am tired during the day but wired & up at night. i think there is a definite link between my anxiety & insomnia.

i've heard that melotonin & 5-HTP are 2 supplements that work well for some people. other people take valerian root or other herbal teas & such to help fall asleep. personally i've been taking CVS "life fitness" soothing sleep tabs. it didn't work magically right away but with continued use it noticed i was less amped up (even during the day) & started getting to sleep better. i also use earth therapeutics brand sleep spray to help calm down. it doesn't make me drowsy but it helps me settle down into the relaxed state needed to fall sleep. and it smells so good it actually makes me feel a bit happy when i smell it. i really like that stuff a lot. anyway the combination of those tabs & the spray seems to be working for me.
