Drugs should be a last resort as everyone reacts differently
Many people die daily from illnesses that physicians were unable to treat or cure.
Is conventional medicine a "gross failure"?
Of course not.
There are instances in which psychiatry (as other forms of medicine) is beyond its limits to help a person. That does not mean psychiatry is a "gross failure". It means that the Steven Kazmeirczak was a very sick young man who caused untold tragedy for many people (including his family).
My main concern about mental health is the type of person who works in the industry. I know first hand that you must be very careful who you work with on issues.
