Cant sleep. help 10 points!?!


Question: im sooo stressed about my art (uni) project that i jus cant sleep therefore i dont have any energy to do any work
any ideas, tips, or advice is welcome

Do not turn to flaming medication. Drugs and the multi-million dollar corperations who push them promise big but deliver little. And they are expensive. Humans have lived through high stress situations for thousands of years, why is it that in 2008 we "need" drugs to deal with them?

My response is to get back to the fundamentals.

I know it's a cliche, but put your uni project into perspective. I'm a uni student myself and sometimes passing or failing an assignment seems more important than anything else in the universe. But when you look at the reality of the situation - that no matter WHAT it will all be over by the time the due date comes around, that in 10 years you will've completely forgotten about the assignment and in 70 years you probably will have forgotten you even went to uni, it doesn't seem so important.

Also, take time to enjoy the simple pleasures of life. Do not let the projects consume your every thought. Take 2 hours out from your work schedule, go to a park with a cup of tea and think about nothing. It's refreshing.

Listen to good music that soothes you.

Rely on your friends. Talk to people who can sympathise with you.

But most of all put it in perspective. It will all be over soon :)

would suggest you to start of with the following ;)

1)Meditation
2) Drink lot of water
3)Listen to medication audios
4) avoid watching TV for some time
5) Wear light coloured dresses
6)Try to read comedy books and keep remembering the funny things happening in your life which brings laugh
7)When you feel like stressed, drink water and eat a teaspoon of sugar and start chewing it.Then enjoy the sweetness of the sugar and try to bring that sweetness to the environemnt around you and you feel better

If I ever face something important in my life, I can't sleep. I have found, seriously, if I lay down in the dark and begin to pray and thank God for EVERYTHING He has blessed me with, I fall asleep. This is no joke. It really works. Good Luck and God Bless

Put on a cd of relaxing music, or ocean waves or something like that. It will relax you plus block out unwanted sounds. Make sure your bedroom is DARK.

Hot baths work wonders.

sit back, close your eyes and just focus on your breathing. Make sure they are deep breaths, that your stomach rises and falls, not just your chest.

Avoid caffeine. Many kinds of pop have caffeine, including colas and mt. dew.

Turn off the computer the blue light keeps you awake. The computer overstimulates your mind. Don't be watching action adventure movies, either.

I have had this problem when I have very bad anxiety. Usually I have the opposite problem.

You try meditation and relaxation. Also try desensitization. You should be physically and mentally relaxed to have good sleep. If this does not work there are some excellent medicines like Alprazolam , Ambien , Atarax or Benadryl. But they should be taken only under medical supervision.

Put your mind in a position where it wants to shut itself off. See insomnia treatments, in section 3, at ezy build, below. Use one of the relaxation methods, in bed, after lights out, on pages 2, 11, 2.c, or 2.i, but they can take some time to learn, (progressive muscular relaxation excepted) so learn and become proficient in their use during the day; an alternative is to use the EFT, in section 53, and pages 2.q, and 2.o, saying to yourself: "Even though I currently have a sleep disorder, I deeply and completely accept myself." (or choose your own wording) while you use the acupressure tapping. Find out which works best for you, in the daylight hours, so you will be prepared, come bedtime. For many people, a good idea is to develop a set "wind down" routine for the last hour before bedtime, so your unconscious mind learns that it is time to put thinking aside, and prepare for mindfulness, (awareness, without cogitation/purposeful thought) or the EFT, in preparation for sleep, but the idea with mindfulness is to not even think about sleeping: just drift off, naturally, during exercising those techniques. http://www.ezy-build.net.nz/~shaneris
