I need to know how to sleep (I am totally serious, read more)?!

Question: Read this!

Okay, so before I used to know how to sleep in. Now, I can't. My mom wakes me up for school and I'm used to waking up at that time, even during weekends and stuff. I want to sleep. I get so tired if I wake up that early. I don't know how to sleep in. How do I do it? I'm just used to waking up that early even if nothing wakes me up. Please, how do I sleep in, without using sleeping pills and stuff? I'm dead serious.

Here are a few tips for a good night's sleep:

- Go to bed at the same time, every night. Believe it, or not, your body will fall into a rhythm and you should be able to sleep and wake up without assistance (which is probably why your body is waking up at the same time, every morning... you're on a rhythm).

- Use your bed for nothing but sleep. If you use your bed for listening to music, reading, watching TV, etc, your body will associate your bed with these other activities. Train your body to use your bed for sleep, alone.

- If all else fails, don't be afraid to try sleep aids. My wife takes Ambien to help her sleep... it works wonders to give her a complete 8 hours of sleep.

Best of luck to you. I know how terrible this can be.

I know how that is. During the school year, on the weekends I always wake up arounf 7 am. and then in the summer it's like between 7 and 11 am.

Some people NEVER get used to waking up early...I am one of them! My solution probably isn't the best one (in fact, I know it isn't) but it works for me: naps. I wake up at 7AM weekdays to go to work, but weekends are all mine...kind of. I wake up early then too, sometimes, but am tired and logey afterwards yet unable to sleep.

Anyways, taking a nap (NO MORE than an hour, preferably half that) on the weekend will help. If you wake up but want to try and fall back asleep, try reading in bed (lying down.) Dim your lights and don't watch TV, because the light from both will throw your body off into thinking it's awake time. (honestly- has to do with Circadian rhythm.)
