When I was your age I was also scared of needles. That did eventually change. I had to change my mind as to how I thought of needles. It can be that simple. Because of needles we have a lot less illness and disease in this country. Needles are really positive if you think of them that way. Don't get me wrong, I still become afraid at times, but really it's only a feeling a little less than an bee sting. So practice changing your mind about needles.

well....i also feared needles when i was young...and i had a unique solution...i used to think of something i liked to do immensly (like playing basketball...) while the doctor was injecting the needle...so try doing it...juz don't think abt it...or suffer the pain.

well im 13 too nd when i go to the doctor i just think about stuff i like and try to take my mind of the needle just think about something u really like and close ur eyes if it help

join the club!!:) wheb i had a tetnis shot, I almost fainted!!lol just dont look and think of something else other than a needle like the funniest thing thats ever happened to you!>sarah

You will outgrow it soon, but in the meantime you should just know that it's simply a quick penetration of the skin and no pain is involved other than the psychological stress you are causing yourself by anticipating it. Simply relax when you go to the doc and think of the one thing that really makes you angry while he is ready to inject you or draw blood. This will transfer from the pain and make it over in a heartbeat.

See page 27, at http://www.ezy-build.net.nz/~shaneris and examine the http://www.1-800-therapist.org/ website, and use the locators in section 1, and phone book to find a suitable therapist. The negative thought reprogramming technique, on page 2, may be all that is required, otherwise, Exposure Therapy may be an effective treatment. Also see anxiety treatments, in section 6. Some people ask to lie down for it. Others, ask where it will be administered, and to be told just before, so that the person about to have the needle can give that place a smack, after which that tiny pinprick has considerably less effect (the nerves which transmit pain have already started work, from over a considerable area, and the pain messages of the small additional amount of pain, from a very tiny area, tend to get flooded: by the others) it may help to look away, and think of something pleasant, and promise yourself a nice reward, once it is over. As a person who doesn't like them, either; I consider that it is mostly the anticipation of pain, which is the problem, and once you take that away, by inflicting a little bit on yourself, the "shock value" is gone.

I would say to grow up! I have had plenty of needles and they simply do not hurt. To me, it is like being afraid of the toaster. Needles simply don't hurt and if you foster the idea that they do, you are going to perpetuate this silly phobia.

be strong and go thru it besides it will not be felyt if u dont look at it
