Why the large difference? Stroke vs ADHD?!

Question: Why is ADHD deemed to be easy to treat (at least according to lots of advertising everywhere) vs mild Stroke which is deemed to be so difficult to treat (at least according to the absence of lots of advertising/whatever)?

They're completely different.

A stroke is a blockage of blood flow to the brain caused by atherosclerosis.

ADHD has nothing to do with that. It's just a 'disorder' that causes people to not be able to stay focused for a long period of time.

MONEY MONEY MONEY MONEY

Because they're completely different things. ADHD is a neurological disorder caused in most cases by gene-based dopamine abnormalities. A stroke happens when the blood flow to your brain is shut off and parts of the brain die.

This is like asking, why is a broken bone so easy to mend but cancer so difficult?

There is a drug out there...I dont know what it is called, but if you are having a stroke and get to the hospital in enough time and they give it to you....it helps dramatically. The only problem is that not all hospitals carry this drug. I wish I knew the name of it.

That question makes very little sense. They are two totally unrelated medical issues therefore you can not in any way compare the ease or difficulty to treat as if they were related conditions...

Because the causes are TOTALLY different. In ADHD the usual cause seems to be a chemical imbalance - give the person drugs to drop levels of certain neurochemicals and raise others, and that should fix things.

In a stroke, even a mild one, you're talking about brain damage. Parts of the brain die, and once they die they can't be brought back. All you can really do is try to help the brain learn to reroute its neural pathways around the damaged area, and that's something that will need therapy and a lot of luck. Drugs won't do a lot for that process.

There are six types of ADHD. 2 of the six are difficult to treat and what works for the moment will not continue to work for a life time.

A Stroke can be treated too. But, the medicines to do such are entirely different from ADHD. Unlike ADHD, it's actually possible to acheive a full recovery from a stroke (if you're lucky).

These two diagnosis are completely unrelated.

ADULT DISCIPLINE HEARING DISORDER

By the time soccer mom wants to actually control their kid, they are trained to NOT HEAR the word NO.

So soccer stay at home moms spend thousands of dollars to give the kid medicine, and then still spoil them.

My advise....slap the soccer moms, save a buck.

what does one have to do with the other, a child can have ADHD, the percentage of child with ADHD is climbing... you pop a pill in the kids mouth and he is ok... kids aren't going around having minor strokes are they? i hope not... well i am confused by this question honestly... adhd is a mental ailment where a cetain chemical can't reach your brain making it harder to concentrate. A stroke is when your heart stops or something like that... one's the head... the other is the heart...
