Do I have bad mental health?!

Question: I constantly fear the worst of things with the absence of loved ones; when my mom and dad are taking a trip, I fear a crash and their death; when my sister left for college, I was left hoping that she would be hurt in any way (kidnapped, raped); and when my brother left for Iraq today, constantly reminding me that he was going to be safe because he was going to be in a safe base or something, I constantly thought that Iraqi people would suddenly attack his airbase, killing him in the process or leaving him stranded. Any comfort? I'm constantly sad all the time.

Sounds like you have a fear of abandonment. Are you the youngest? Have you lost grandparents or anyone else close to you?

Please don't project into the future. You have to tell yourself that everything is ok right now. Live in the moment. Keep bringing yourself back to this moment when your mind starts racing.

Can you pray for them? If you can, do it and then let God handle it.

Write down your thoughts and feelings. Sometimes, when you get them down on paper, they don't seem so real or scary. Give it a shot.

Have you talked to your parents about how you feel? It sounds like you love your family very much and are afraid for them. There's nothing wrong with that as long as you stay in the reality of today. How are they TODAY?

Best wishes.

sounds like depression

Considering that it was a typo, I would say no, you just seem to be a caring person.

Sounds like you worry too much, learn to relax or you aren't going to have any fun in life. Life has good and bad. I would try meditation to clear your mind.

You do not have "Bad" mental health.
You are worrying about your family because you love them.
We do worry about the people we love.
If this is really bothering you, you could talk to a therapist to examine how these worries are affecting you and how to manage your feelings. Best Wishes

I'm sorry you are so sad. the only person who can answer you that is someone in that profession. you can always talk to people, your family and friends, to help but sometimes we need to look beyond what people will say(making fun of someone for needing to see a psychiatrist) and do what is right for us. if you had to ask then something is not right for you right now. talk it over with someone who can give you a new perspective on your problems your family can't want you to be sad all the time just like you obviously don't want them sad. i sure hope you find the right answer to help you, good luck.

Yes, you are depressed. Depression is anger turned inward & pushed down. You are angry at being abandoned. All your examples are about people leaving you.

See a professional social worker or psychologist to be able to talk about your terribly sad & angry feelings & thoughts. They will be able to help you discover what the sense of abandonment is really about & then you will feel better.

I think you would really do well in therapy.

Good luck to you.
