Question: My son was prescribed FOCALIN XR?
My son is having a lot of trouble in school and was threatened to be retained. Doctor said this medicine works right away and we will notice the difference the first day. The only problem is that he has trouble swallowing pills, since their is no liquid form. We will have to open the pill capsule and put it into something but the thing is I have tried this all applesauce, pudding, koolaid, even sugar!!!! What can I do to get him not to throw up the medicine???
Plus have you seen any results with other children or your own?
and he has ADHD " Inattention " problems.

Does the doctor know he can't swallow pills? I was told the only one you could open up was Adderall XR. There is no liquid, but there is a patch, called Daytrana. You might try that. Our insurance wouldn't cover it, so we didn't get to use it, we just kept opening the Adderall and putting it in chocolate frosting or peanut butter. Good luck!
