Lithium is a natural element.

I used to take St. John's Wort for my depression and anxiety, it helped, but it gave me stomach aches so I went back to Paxil.

There is also an herb called Kava or Kava Kava, I tried that a couple of times but I couldn't tell if it worked or not.

Talk therapy- about as natural as you can get! If you are hoping for some herb or root, it won't effect your condition a bit.

a friend of mine had bi polar her father ended up putting her on pills for a very long time and after a few years he decided to try natural methods such as healthy natural foods especially fish (i assume for omega 3 to pump up the brain)

Bi-bolar disorder is a very serious medical condition. I do not know of any natural cures which work. I know the drugs for this are wrought with problems and it can take a long time to find the right one and the right dosage. You can only get this kind of care from a real doctor - if you self-medicate you can get into real trouble.

and well, about the 80% of medicine chemicals came originally from nature, so if you find "the pill" for bi polar disorder you can just go on and serch its natural origin.

Hun...bipolar disorder is a chemical imbalance in the brain. If your looking for a homeopathic remedy or some herbal treatment, there's not much...that actually works. A really long time ago people used drugs thinking it was a treatment not realizing they were actually just high and thought they were all better. I'm NOT telling you to do any kind of drug! There have been some cases where the imbalance has fixed it self. Finally you could just see a psychologist to help you controll your self.

Yoga, Mindfulness/Meditation, Talk Therapy, natural supplements like omega-3, 5-htp, etc. can all work wonders if you stick with them. even something as simple as eating well, avoiding drugs/alcohol, and getting enough sleep can even things out a bit. in the same way that getting nervous makes your palms sweaty(mind affecting body), making your body feel better can make your mind feel better. its a give and take relationship.
