Help! I forgotten how to take a BREAK!?!

Question: I sat for a major examination the 'O levels' last year and as a result in the run-up to the examination I studied like a house on fire about 8 to 12 hours a day. Next year i will be sitting for the 'A' levels another major exam but i am already studying like mad now and feel guilty whenever i take too long a break. Am I suffering from Obsessive Compulsive Disorder?

I believe that doing a lot of revision is good and you may get carried away and do too much. Though at least your addicted to working and not more serious things! What i think is that you should make a timetable about how much revision you do, so that you follow that. OCD's usually follow something like that, without it you'll probably go out of control on the work. Just set revision then breaks and you'll be fine.

But don't just listen to me, take everyones advice, combine it, and i think you'll be happy in no time.

Guilty why? Everyone needs a break form everything.

Make some kind of a study timetable including breaks and stick to it, then you won't feel the guilt.

Put the books on the table and back away slowly. Go for a walk and relax or you will burn yourself out.

we are creatures of habit. I think there are times in our life to work &time to play. I am glad I worked hard when I was younger cause I take it easy now & can rest on the work I did. I think OCD is just a habit but most of us don't do well at breaking habits so we label it & think we are stuck forever.

You should take frequent breaks

You can adjust the guilt emotion by realizing that when you're breaking, your knowledge is settling and incorporating with other knowledge in your subconscious.
This is necessary if you're going to "own it", or "make it your own" and thus retrievable, rather than getting packed into your head too tight without a chance to be fully absorbed.
It's all good!
Best wishes.

It's nothing to do with OCD it is just pressure and guilt. You need a break you can't study like that for 3 years straight you will make yourself mentally ill and possibly have a nervous breakdown. Make sure you revise a month before your AS or A2 exams and during the other times just make sure you keep uptodate on all your homework and course work the rest of the time is for you to sit back and have a normal life, go out maybe work a bit e.c.t
