well anti depressants don't always work, i have several conditions in which meds don't really do that much. Everybody thinks that now a days u can just take a pill for everything. Well there are still several things that u just can't take a pill for. And depression is one of those. All i can say is try to find things that u enjoy, & maybe some new things that u enjoy too. And let people that are close to you know so it's not a big deal. Also stay away from people that keep saying are you ok? Usually people that say that have their own problems & they try to feel better by making themselves think your problems are worse than there's & being around people like that is not helpful. And try to put yourself in an unstressful situation everyday. And do something so your mind doesn't wander. If your not thinking about killing your self or suicide you're doing just fine. But if you are, you need to talk to a therapist, sometimes meds work, & sometimes they don't, i've always been of the mindset that depression usually has just as much to do if not MORE to do with what's going on with your life & how you're able to cope with it than your meds. Doctors will tell you other wise, & if you feel like you need a doctors help that's fine, but don't get in the mindset that doctors are always right or that the doctors we have today are so much better than the ones we've had throughout history. If you ever want to witness a horror story, just read about the history of medicine & what doctors thought was the right thing to give patients. And if you think well that doesn't happen today, well then why are there so many medicine companies that have to end up going to court cause their being sued for wrongful death ect. If you can handle it yourself do so, if not than take a small dosage of something that you trust will help you. Don't leave everything in the doctors hands. And don't forget the medical field have made far more advances in physical health than they have in mental health, & mental health is so much more dificult to cure with a pill. But think postively & just try to have fun, spend time with friends, play a game at something you enjoy & allow yourself for time so that you can just lose track of time.

If your not feeling better after 3 months, you need to tell your psychiatrist and adjust your meds. Nothing should take 3 months to work.

Talk about it to someone. Seeing a professional would be your best luck. They're here to help us and listen to our problems.

The best beating depression method is with a big stick. Anyone who shows signs of depression gets a sound beating (amazing how motivated people get to avoid pain...).

However, most people prefer a gentler method. My suggestion is to try taking up an exercise routine. Start with bicycling 2 - 3x/week, to get some adrenaline going (combats the depressive feelings). As you get more used to it, maybe add a martial arts class 2x/week. When you start feeling more confident, then (if you are single) go out into the dating scene. If you are married, take your spouse out somewhere special. Blow off the rut, start feeling the intensity of your life and do more... this is the best (non-painful) way I know that gets kicks the depression in the butt and gets your life into a new gear.

Working out, sex, laughing, crying, cutting out sugar, travel. Did I mention sex...
