Answers: i just got cymbalta 1 week ago still want to kill myself.

My husband takes Cymbalta. It takes 4-6 weeks to work(sometimes sooner) and people around you will notice it working before you do. He has been on it for 3 years and it is wonderful. He started on Welbutrin and it stopped working, wen to effexor and it stopped working. Cymbalta is the only medication that has worked for more than a year.

"Bubbles"- if treating depression was as easy as you think then nobody would be on antidepressants. You can't think your way out of it

Its going to take 4-6 weeks to be effective

This probably isn't what you want to hear, but give the meds more time to work. It can take up to 4 weeks for an anti-depressant to start working. Sometimes it takes trying a few different anti-depressants before you find one that works for you. Be patient and have faith that you will find something that makes you feel better. Keep your doctor updated on how you're feeling and just don't give up hope.

(and yes that is my nickname NO JOKE)

prepare to play a guinea pig, sweet heart.. im on cymbalta, wellbutrin, was on buspar till they changed it to generic and my face broke out in huge soars.youll be trying different meds.. thats usual
and dove/bubbles, dont take this wrong, but its not so easy to 'just be happy' when death makes sense in your head, when your spirit is broken and you have no idea why, when you need meds, dont be tom cruise thinking 'happy thoughts'' will work. if it works for you, super!!! your not the norm
