Ideas for substitutes to cutting?!

Question: I am a recovering cutter, lol, I have been doing very well and not cutting for quite some time now, but I am at a point in my life where I'm dealing with a lot of stress and due to certain circumstances, have no one to help me through. Any ideas for constructive alternatives to cutting would be greatly appreciated.

And please no smart *** comments.

i totally understand what your going through because i used to be a cutter and my sister was even worse.

whatever you use to cut with, give it to someone you trust and if you dont want to do that then bury it, throw it in the ocean, throw it on a high way, anything just to get rid of it.

when you do this you'll feel sooo proud of yourself.

when you get angry.. DONT go somewhere alone.
stay in public or around people so you dont get the urge to cut yourself.

dont keep sharp objects around and if you really feel the need to cut then keep your hands busy by writing or doing anything else.

if you really really feel like cutting then just take a hair tie or rubber band and put it on your wrist and snap it.

its not the best but at least its not cutting right?

soon you wont even need the rubber band anymore and you'll be okay.

remember your not alone and you can make it through.

theres also a reallly good organization called "to write love on her arms"
idk if youve heard of them but there really great.. heres the link to them..

Nothing smart *** about it.

When I used to get stressed out I would go workout (gym, yoga or spin) anything to clear my mind and relax. When you feel you have accomplished something like that you feel more ready to start tackling your own problems one at a time. When you do have a chance you may want to talk to a physician/therapist to help you because they are trained to deal with your concerns

First of all, no matter what anyone tells you, DON'T snap a rubber band around your wrist. Trust me, I know from experience, that doesn't work.

Do something that makes you feel good about yourself, like a hobby or something. When you feel good about yourself, your stress levels go down, and more importantly, you feel like you CAN stop cutting, because you're worth it.

I wish you the best.

try finding something else to do with your hands when you feel the urge... i hear that some ppl put elastic bands on their wrists and they flick it whenever they feel the urge to something.

ok first make a pillow (no don't buy one make one) and then everytime you feel mad hit it. (even if its just a tiny anger and then its a lot harder for anger to build up. now the reason i said make it yuorself is because i have found that if you are a bigger part of the healing process its better for you! also everytime you are angry write why you are so angry in a journal or diary or as i call it jiary it will help vent the emotions. i hope this helps! :-) good luck! :-)

what about painting? I know it's random but imagine the emotions you could express on a canvas with colors... could turn into something beautiful!
