Need to get my dog - service dog status?!
Question: I have PTSD as a result of Iraq, before the VA eventually helped me I got a dog to help me deal with things. Now they have officially clasified me as disabled due to PTSD and depression. Through ADA website, they say that he needs to perform a function, although he does not open the door or fetch me a Beer, its what he does for me in a more suttle manner, he keeps me focused 24*7, he nudges me continiously when i am staring into space in deep thought, he makes sure i get up in the morning when i do not want to and he stands guard at night so that i can go asleep without worrying.
What can i do to get him approved as a service dog?

Perhaps you could have a medical doctor and/or psychiatrist write letters stating the value of having that dog.

I'm not sure what you could do ther than work with him and get him certified as a companion r service dg. try posting this in the dogs section, if you post it around 5-6 pm I have fund more peple answer. goodluck!
