Why do you lose memory after a concussion?!

Question: I'm trying to do a research project on forgetting and memory loss. I'm aware that memory loss can occur after a concussion. Does anybody know a particular physiological reason why it happens? Thanks!

It's my understanding that some persons can lose memory of a concussion, for example, a farmer who is in a fenced pasture and a bull/whatever knocks him out for 20 minutes. The farmer later reconstructs what likely happened since he has no memory of the event/the concussion at all.

The mechanism/part of the mechanism is hinted at in the world of neurology with some of the many epilepsies (petit mal/absence/complex partial, etc.).

In other cases of memory loss, there may be evidence of bleeding in the brain which may destroy memory cells/access to memory cells it seems to me.

Insights into memory enhancement and memory loss come from various fields such as neurology, brain injuries, concussions, the ADHDs, the epilepsies, the CAPDs, etc.

Only the memory that wasn't posted to your brains hard drive. If you loose anything else you may want to see a neurologist.
