Are these signs of psychosis?!

Question: I live with a young person who is 18 years old. This person lately seems to spend waking periods of time on Myspace and the rest of the time sleeping. This person hasn't laundered their clothing in over three months. Now, this person is in school, but isn't really taking the studies seriously. Their room is so sloppy, that they don't want to be in it themselves. Are these warning signs of psychosis?

Sounds like a bad depression to me - which is not the same as psychosis. In psychosis, people are literally out-of-touch with reality, at least part of the time. May hear voices in their heads, be disoriented as to time and place, etc. Could be someone into drug usage, if not depression. Sounds like he needs some type of counseling and help.

No, these are the symptoms of a normal internet geek

depression maybe, not psychosis

could be laziness too.

more like depression and worries like bullying.
This sort of happenred to me at school.Still like it now a bit but better.

It sounds like a normal 18 year old to me. Maybe you could encourage the person to start doing things besides surf the Internet.

More information is required for a definite answer such as his thoughts,emotions/feelings,relationships... efficiency in routine activity/daily chores and so on.He needs a good consultation( with experienced Psychiatrist or Clinical Psychologist) that would help his growth whether or not he is psychotic

addictied to the internet is what i would say. it can be normal with people
