What are the effects of too much sleep and too little sleep?!

Question: Sleep deprivation can be absolutely TERRIFYING-literally! I have personal experience of this: as a result of various family issues, I was unable to sleep for 10 consecutive nights (only grabbing a couple of hours here and there) and as a result, I suffered horrendous delusions and went cuckoo for about a week. The intial, terrifying episode lasted about a day.
If my family had not been so supportive and helped me along, I would have been locked up in a mental ward for the period of my 'delisions'. My family have psychiatric experience so knew what they were dealing with.
During my 'episode', I was ranting and raving like a real loon! I was so crazy and so convinced that the scary delusions of evil were true. I am so embarrased about it now :-(
I've read of tons of other people who've had similar, equally terrifying experiences due to sleep deprivation-i.e. one girl thought she turned into a fish!
As for too much sleep...the symptoms include:difficulty falling asleep at bed time,Wakening during the night, Waking up too early, not feeling refreshed after waking up and Daytime sleepiness.
Hope my answer will help you. Good Luck! ;-)

too little sleep:
you get run-down easily
your cranky
you always want to sleep
you get a lack of oxygen which makes you yawn

too much sleep:
you get cramped up
you feel caloustraphobic
you get stiff

Too little puts you on edge. Wheras too much makes it harder to get to sleep and sometimes it can make your reactions slower. Also if you do sleep too much you can get tired very easily.

For me, when I have to much sleep I am exhausted. Then if I sleep to little, Im grouchy and my head hurts.

I've been working nights on and off for the past Eighteen Years. One thing is that you crave carbs. Fight off the urge!! You always have the urge to catch up on errands during the day, in exchange for sleep. I recently went back to Nights after a two year absense; in that time, I learned to discipline myself and take better care of my body. I don't consume many carbs or sugar and it shows. I'll be Fifty this year, but people take me for much younger. One other thing; I noticed i my increased libido! I feel ready for sex much more and stay that way much longer...

Too little sleep makes you tired, cranky, more clumsy, less energetic, less mentally alert, your memory's not as good, it's bad for digestion, and if you're still growing you might not grow as tall if you make a habit of depriving yourself of sleep.

Too much sleep can cause muscle stiffness, it is a waste of time, and your muscles can atrophy.
