How does it feel to have a borderline personality?!

Question: What are your subjective feelings and thoughts? Sorry if this offends anyone.

This is a hostile condition, so people who have it are generally angry at people for real or imagined grievances. The borderline motto could be "You can't prove you love me no matter how much you try." They also exaggerate reasons to feel guilty, so the hostilty is inwardly directed as well. My sister had it - she was a mess.

I`ll tell you when I reach it. I`m currently hiding in a metaphorical truck, but should get there soon.
Wish me luck.

Erm, just laugh a lot at everything death whatever

I'm gonna stop them voices by draining someone lol

marginalised

A love-hate/black-white relationship with everything. You love something with all your heart, then turn around and hate it. This happens with relationships, so it's hard to keep friends let alone boy/girlfriends. You feel "split". You consciously change your personality - living two, three, or more lives. You're impulsive, if you get the impulse to jump on someones' car - you do it. Impulsivity also translates into anger. Anything sets you off. You're self-destructive, you will sabotage jobs/relationships. Impulsivity + self destruction = not a good combination. Leads to self injury (cutting, burning, etc), eating disorders (particularly eating disorders), and suicide attempts.

It's not pleasant to have.

Most people that have Borderline Personality Disorder don't even realize it. They are usually very manipulative and this makes it very difficult for them to be treated by means of therapy... Most of their relationships are "love/hate" relationships... In the sense that they might really love someone, but in fear of being abandoned they might yell "i hate you" if the other person upsets them. People with BPD are usually found to have a background of abuse or neglect as a child. They may use self harm a lot, such as cutting, eating disorders, etc. and they probably have other mental illnesses as well, such as depression, bi-polor disorder, or a panic disorder....

Dreadful. Tortured. As if you are going to disintegrate, die, be in more agony than it would be possible to bear, if someone says or does something which, in that moment, sounds/seems to you as if the person doesn't after all love/care about you. In an agony of anticipation/hope if it seems that someone might really love/care about you, but utterly desperate because they might, at any moment, reject you. Deliriously happy when for a moment you are convinced they really do love you. But almost before you've blinked, being convinced they don't.

Fixating on something that, you are convinced, will make you feel really good, and impulsively going for it (writing a letter declaring your undying love; getting a dog/cat; booking a holiday; etc) and then within an hour/day/week realising it is not the answer to life, the universe and everything and suffering agonies of guilt and shame and the painfulness of having to be exposed to other people knowing that you have made a mistake.

Being so distraught that the only thing that seems as if it could make you feel better is to cut/overdose/otherwise self-harm; feeling so completely grim that this really, truly, is the only way to make the world feel OK, doing it, then suddenly knowing that it wasn't the right thing to do but there is no going back on it.

People often see those with Borderline Personality Disorder as 'manipulative', but from the point of view of the sufferer, they are simply so desperate to ensure that they are loved and not abandoned that they will do anything that, in the moment, they believe might make this possible. If they can't get the love/if they feel abandoned, everything feels so deadly, as if they are going to die, that the suffering is intense beyond anything most of us know.

I hope this gives you some flavour - and also that it helps anyone reading have some compassion towards their friends/acquaintances with BPD.
