How many drinks is it safe to have when on Wellbutrin?!

Question: I know ideally none, but what about practically?

Answers: I know ideally none, but what about practically?

I would ask your doctor. I am also on medication and I asked my doctor what he would recommend for me to do when it came to drinking while taking my medications. Some I need to lessen the dose of, others I was told to skip the dose, while others I was told would be OK to take. All meds are different, and so I would just talk to your doctor about it. They're probably going to tell you that you shouldn't drink while on medication, which is true, but be persistent if you really want to know. Say something like "I understand that it is best for me not to drink while talking my medications, but if i WAS to drink, what would you recommend I do."

Good luck, I hope this was useful

This greatly depends on the Wellburtin dosage and the size of you.

But none, would be the ideally right to do.

Alcohol is a CNS depressant and I think it just makes things worse.

There is no "safe" level of alcohol, as it works against the drug. If you're going to drink, don't take it. Some things are worth it, and it you gotta choose. You taking this to help quit smoking, or for depression? Either way, alcohol works against the benefit of taking of the drug.

You need to talk to your psychiatrist about that. Mine doesn't see a problem with it because I am such a light drinker (maybe once a month or slightly more & one drink). It depends on the drugs tho, the doctor & how well they know you. Plus, I have bipolar, not straight depression.

So call them up! It is a fair question.
