Go to a doctor and consult about the physical reactions of withdrawl. Get direction from the doctor on how to quit and rehab.

Relaxation techniques e.g yoga, concentrate on breathing, mediation, writing in a diary and finding the source to the problem.Good luck and take care xox

This is best dealt with by seeking the advice of your doctor and a therapist. You will be getting qualified advice. That's not meant to knock anyone here who wants to legitimately help you, but it is the safest way.

I was an active drug addict since 1972 and will be celebrating 3 years and 8 months clean of ANY form of drug because I am in a 12 step program. I say that because I have learned that many people didn't realize that they were addicts and went through hell trying to get off painkillers.

That's not to suggest that you or someone else are abusers in any sense of the word. It's just a precaution to save you time and misery. So, if you continue to have difficulty getting through this, you might want to look into that possibility.

Some withdrawal symptoms can be severe, Tell the Dr. the truth, and I am sure you will be medically "weaned" until you no longer need them. They can also be replaced with something not as addictive. I would try a different Dr., because anyone that would write that prescription for years is questionable. Why are you taking them? That is the question to ask yourself.
