I know exactly how you feel bud, I moved 400km's away from my old town about 4 years ago, and had a very hard time adjusting. When I first started meeting people, they were some hardcore nerds and I was not happy at all with being their friend, yet couldn't find anyone better to socialize with. Finally, after about 2 years, I found a group of friends who I really enjoyed hanging out with. We hang out to this day, even though a lot of us are done high school.

I had no forewarning that I would be their friend, and so it came out of nowhere and completely changed my life from being nostalgic to embracing my new town.

If I can make a recommendation, go back to your old town a few times and visit. At first it makes things really hard, because suddenly you will see everyone that you miss and will want it all to come back again. But slowly, you get over it.

I miss a lot of my old town, I had a huge property and there were a lot of forests and lakes around that I would always walk through, and it was always completely silent out there. It was really beautiful, and I will always miss that. I am stuck in town now, and don't enjoy it, but I have learned to accept it and I am happy. But now, I really can't be bothered going back. I've lost contact with all but a few of my friends from there, but the ones who I do still talk to are very close and I still see them often now, even though I had to go a few years without seeing much of them.

When you get your full license, take a road trip out there if it isn't too far, and see everyone. I guarantee that after you do this a few times, you will start to accept your present situation. And remember, when you move out, wherever you end up is entirely up to you. I was hellbent on returning to my old town after I graduated, but now I realize that there is no future for me there, and that it's a part of my past, nothing more.

I hope that helps you, I know it's tough but you'll be fine. You never know, one of these days things could do a full 180.

It is understandable that you feel the way you do. I would too.

I would try and immerse myself in some school clubs or youth groups. Hanging out and doing stuff with others who are all focused on the same thing helps to establish new friendships and expand your mind all at the same time.

My niece is your age age and she is president of her school club and she is having such a good time with it. She was always shy and only had a couple of friends. But this year she's like a whole new kid. She also does FFA (Like 4H) which she loves.

Hope you do the same. I think it would really help you. Good luck!

Im going to be a freshman next year. lolz
Highschool years are the four worst years of most people's lives. lolz
No body likes High School. I try to concentrate on each day. don't think of the school year as a year. but think about it as days in a week. only 5 days. each day is only 6 hours.

Join a club, team, group etc. Meet new people, try new things, it'll be fun. And your school is cliquish? That sucks. My school is surprisingly nice, which is weird. Everyone just has there area and stays out of other groups ways.
But don't worry, highschool is either heaven or hell, and for those its heave for, their adult lives are going to probably be hell and they'll always see highschool as the Golden Age of their life which is rather pathetic if you ask me.
Hang in there. Try something new (after all that's what highschool's about) and be outgoing.

high school will go faster then you think you know im 20 and now out of high shcool.. and i had a hard time fittin into my high school i went to a rich kids high school and i wasnt.... and i wish i could go back to do better in school... so basicly what im trying to say jus make sure you do what you have to do in high school like your work so you dont regret it later like i do.... if there really your friends they will be your friends... so jus be yourself.. and if they dont like that that then all well you dont need them..... things will get better.. dont worry...if something is allready down on the floor you can either choose to leave it there... or can rise it to the top... its your choice... much luv

Work so hard at your studies that you can skip a grade. Then you'll graduate faster and get into the work force faster too!

Are you eligible to take the GED? If so, I would take that and sign up for a community college. People are so much more respectful there (but some should of left the drama in highschool). I would only take this route if you went to college immediately.

Once in college you could join clubs and take courses you need for a college degree. You could also take remedial courses if you need them.

If you choose to go this route, remember that it takes money! You may be able to get some financial aid, but it isn't guaranteed. You probably will be at least eligible for some loans. That may seem like a bad deal, but think of it this way: If you skip your senior year of highschool you might be able to graduate from college one year earlier. Will you make enough money in that extra year of working to pay for your loans?

I hated high school, so I took Clep tests and college courses to get my AS and I also took a year to study abroad through the Rotary Foundation. Where I live you only pay for your airfare, insurance ($400), a jacket ($90), and spending money. If you went to Guatemala this could end up costing less than $2000 for the whole 9 month school year. Other locations in the US require you to pay a set fee, usually less than $6000. Think of it as an investment into your education. You can learn a new language (Spanish is one of the easiest and most useful) and you have an experience that sets you apart in college applications and job interviews. I went to an area with a low cost of living so sending me abroad cost about the same overall as keeping me for a year. If I went to Central America, it would have cost way less.

You can earn money to study abroad by working. And you can ask for people and companies to sponsor you. For example, a $50 donation might send them 3 postcards/ letters, while a $300 donation will get them 3 letters and a souvenier, and a $500 donation will get them a letter every month, a souvenier, and pictures.

Make life work for you. You are only young so long. Consider doing volunteer work or even volunteering in the special ed department.
