That sounds like PTSD. There are various kinds of drugs that a doctor might consider.
Antidepressants
Benzopines
Tranquillizers
Hypnotics
Anti-psychotics
Anti-histamines

Lunesta is particularly good for sleep
Klonopin is particularly good for anxiety (your problem is too bad for Xanax)
Some antidepressants, such as Lexapro, might reduce all your symptoms.
A doctor is likely to also recommend psychotherapy.

These sound more serious than anxiety like symptoms.

The Murder of your mom - how traumatic!! I don't know how you would get over it - just on your own.

I would say he may give you an anti-depressant that helps treat anxiety, and sleep disorders.

You should also go to a therapist - you may be experiencing Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).

counsling and medication

They will probably give you anti-depressants because thats what they use to treat anxiety. They will also recommend that you see a therapist also to learn how to cope, and possibly even a psych doctor to see about post-traumatic stress disorder.

your doctor can give you xanax. i will warn you it's a highly addictive narcotic and most doctors do not like prescribing it. he/she will evaluate you and try giving you some calming techniques. but i think with your situation you wouldn't have a problem getting something to help with your nerves. you may try thereapy too. it really does help to have someone who is non judegmental to listen and help with your situation

Please accept my condolences on your loss...
Your doctor may prescribe an anti-anxiety medicine (Xanax) or an anti-depressant such as (Zoloft).

Also, please seek counseling for your grief. No
one can ever explain or understand the pain experienced by the loss of a parent.

May you find comfort in the time of your loss. May the very best parts of your Mother live on in you.

Are you eating well? First cut out all caffeine things like coffee tea coke chocolate aged cheese. Have no alcohol. Get at least an hour of exercise a day. Then after you have done all that if it doesnt help you sleep, try an over the counter sleep aid like nytol which is benedrl. All the over the counter sleep aids have the same ingredient in them so they are all benedrl. Dont use tyleno pm since you do not need the tylenol part of it. Then if that fails to help you, Call the Dr and see if you can get a prescription RX. You didnt say if this has been going on for years or not so Im hoping it hasnt. Truly diet and exercise is your best bet. I am so sorry for you.

I am sorry for your loss and the awful way it happened. A doctor might prescribe some medication to help you sleep and control your anxiety and may refer you to a counselor or therapist so you can talk through your problems and fears. Maybe a big dog would make you feel safer. Not getting any sleep will make you more emotional. Have you tried exercise? It burns off energy so you don't have any energy left to worry. That might help - walk 30-60 minutes every day if you can. If walking is going to help you will notice in 2-3 days. Good luck.

Xanax, Ativan, Ambien, Zoloft
