Will exercise help ocd?!

Question: I have ocd and need help, will exercise help?

Answers: I have ocd and need help, will exercise help?

Yoga can help relax you, as far as keeping you "balanced", I would say a good relationship with God is the answer to that.

Being on medication for OCD, are you under constant supervision by a counselor? You should only need that medication for a short period of time, to get you through a rough time and the rest you should be working on in counseling to control your thoughts and actions.

I think meditation/prayer has been proven to help people in many areas with regards to help and well-being. Try that, it will help you to be more relaxed and focused. Use what you learn from meditation to assist you in controlling you thoughts. You have the ability to control this and finally overcome it too.

Hi there,

I have OCD - and exercise will help. But what'll help the most is "living with the uncertainty"

visit www.ocdonline.com - and read some articles written by a guy named Steven Phillipson. Fantastic approaches to help you with this stuff....

I'm not sure what your obsessions are, but the main thing is to NOT give them any meaning and realize they are just thoughts.

If it feels like it probably is OCD - IT IS. These thoughts are not WHO you are.

But yes, exercise will definitely help. But without the right "cognitive behavioral therapy" and mindset, it'll only help a little....

Good Luck, it does get better!
