I need some advice on how to concentrate more because I procrastinate so much.?!

I'm having the exact same problem. I'm having every single weekend pass right by me without doing my homework. You need to start becoming more determined. That way you'll look more forward to accomplishing things.

Try setting the timer for fifteen minutes and working just til the timer goes off. When it does, let yourself mess around for another fifteen minutes. You'll be amazed how much you can get done in only fifteen minutes. If you break a project up into smaller chunks then it doesn't seem so overwhelming. Sometimes it's the overwhelming-ness of it that stops you from starting in the first place so by breaking it up it helps.

Procrastination is the greatest thief of time.

I had the same problem. I sometimes still do, but I'm better now. We have the problem of being distracted with other things besides what we are supposed to be doing. We might start a bunch of projects, but never finish the first.

A good thing to do is set yourself up on a definite schedule. Then make up your mind that on certain days at certain times, you're going to work on one specific thing until it's done.

If you look at how schools are set up, they have periods of teaching in which you are taught a block of instruction on one specific subject. You aren't taught English in Math class. You don't play basketball in art classes. You don't try to sharpen your dart throwing skills during shop class.

You are set up to get a little instruction at a time every day at specific times, then you do homework on that instruction the next day. In the middle of the year, you take semester exams. And the end of the year, you take finals. You don't get it all at once.

That's just an example of how you order yourself to think and take control of your tasks. You don't need ridilin or that other junky drug...you just need to schedule your tasks and have the self-discipline to meet your tasks at that specific time or on that specific day.

This is how people that have 60 hour a week jobs manage to get their PHD's.
Management.
Self-discipline.
Scheduling.
Staying on task.
Finishing the task.

Make a start after reading this. Often that provides the impetus to do more, later. An old proverb is: "A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step." Take that first step. Many procrastinators have the tendency to see the task in its totality, which can be quite daunting. Work out how it is best accomplished in manageable stages, and give yourself a small reward, after each one, with the promise of a bigger one, at the end. Make a task schedule, and mark off each one as it is completed. Have breaks between stages.
