Why do i worry about others having a better life then me?!

Question: like people i know of who live in a different town from me (town were i dont visit very often). Everyday i feel they are having a better life and time then i am. Why do i think like this? How can i stop thinking like this?

"You're exactly where you want to be, otherwise you'd be somewhere else".

Another catchphrase you can apply to financial, education, love, or whatever. Basically, someone, somewhere, with the same background, opportunities, and problems as you, has a different life than you because they made better choices and worked harder for it.

If you are religious, it is one of the Ten Commandments [do not covet your neighbor].
Best defense is to set small, short term, achievable goals for yourself. Once you succeed in them, set some larger, longer term goals. Be very specific, write them down, and display them where you see them everyday.[fridge, office, dashboard of car]

Couple more for ya: "Attitude determines Altitude" , and "Elevator to success is out of order, you'll have to take the stairs like everyone else".

Good question. The only way I can think of to stop this thinking is to live a better life than the one you are now. I feel the same way, like I'm missing out on something but I don't really know what "it" is. Try making a list of all the things that you would really like to achieve/learn/experience. Ask questions of the people you know/admire, find out what it is that they do to keep themselves entertained. Ask the same questions here on Y!Answers. I guess we think this way because we are empty, unfulfilled and wanting. Voids are a *********. Good luck filling yours.

The grass is always a little greener on the other side of the fence.

It is probably how you were raise, you have heard of the saying "keeping up with the jhonsons" right, well you will find that people elsewhere may have it better than you, but you also may have it better than some others.

You have mental problems, see a doctor.
