I'm really depressed...?!


Question: I don't know why, but I've been feeling really depressed lately and its really starting to show through school. I'm usually a straight A student but now I'm getting B's and C's! I don't know how to slap myself out of it but I have to fast before I can't get my grades up. Please help me! I just can't make myself get my work done and I've lost all enthusiasm for everything. On Christmas I didn't even feel like getting up, I just wanted to go back to bed! I don't even try any more at anything and I'm just really worried. Help!

This is something to discuss with someone face-to-face. There are issues that you need to deal with.

For example, are you having trouble at home? Problems with other kids at school? Girl troubles? Financial woes? Doing drugs? there are many reasons that you may or may not be depressed. I recommend finding an ADULT who you trust to talk to about these things. Being a teenager is the most difficult time of life. Learning who you are is never easy, but the good part is that you WILL learn to deal with these things eventually. One of these days you will realize that these "teen" problems that you are dealing with never really mattered anyway. Until then, just know that your feelings are valad, and what you are going through is perfectly normal for someone your age. It's not what you want to hear, I know, but it is TRUE.

Maybe you could try getting a job for one or two days per week. Getting out of your current situation for a few hours can make a world of difference. You already know that what you are doing right now isn't working, so shake it up a bit. If not a job, then volunteer a few hours of your time at a hospital or nursing home on the weekends.

Without knowing your specific situation, I cant really say much more except good luck. You will get your groove back eventually.

Get some professional help and get on some meds.

It may be a chemicle imbalance. If you dont eat healthy and exercise regularly this may be the problem. try changing your diet. I think its a chemicle thing and not clinical because you are seeking help and people who are truely depressed usualy think they are just bothering people.

Hi, It does sound like you are depressed. What might help you is to find out why you are depressed or making you lose concentration on things. Once you discover what is holding you back than you need to discover ways to improve your situation(or problem)
Maybe you should write these things down & try to tackle one thing at a time

I was straight A and now striaght F's, D's and C's cuz of depression and mental unstablity

don't worry about it dude, I've went through the same things, I'm a senior in highschool and its easy to get in a funk or a depressive state.

You shoukd get better soon, don't think at all about why you are depressed just think about the positives in life in general

IDK you personally but everyone has freinds or atleast a friend, hang out with poeple who make you happy and make you feel like its great to be living, go out and do things that make you happy

Exercise, good nutrition, are the best.

Keep good thoughts and find things to be thankful for.

There are examples of children who thought they were depressed until they started taking the drugs the doctors prescribed ... that's when they found out how much worse off they were. Please, do you homework on this subject!!!

Pharmaceutical companies want all of us to be taking their damn pills for everything.

There are a plethora of reasons why one can be depressed, just PLEASE don't forget to learn that the foods we eat can provide us with the natural means to produce the brain chemistry toward your moods, relationships, & energy.

They are now attacking our children by giving them those Psychotropic drugs ... okay they work on many kids ... but with most of the school shootings you've heard about ... these are the drugs they were giving to the depressed children. (Don't take my word for it ... look it up like I did.) The schools get more $$$ by getting you on this stuff. You can't trust them.

Please, don't just pop those synthesized pills ... do something real for you.
