The problem with suicide is that:
* If you succeed, you will stop the pain, the boredom, the feeling of isolation and not being loved, liked or understood, the frustration, and so on...BUT you will also stop the opportunity to do something different and experiment love, happiness, wonder, etc. AND you will leave behind a great pain in the hearts of all those who really like and love you.
* If you fail, you could end up having health problems that will prevent you to have a good life later. Or you could become even worse and get more and more depressed.

If the only think that makes you "happy" is a drug, you think you are depressed and think about suicide, you need help.

First: the depression has many roots and reasons: from your biology and the chemistry in your body to the situation you are living now. You may have problems at school, with friends or family members, or you may have another situation where you don't see any light and improvement.
Depression is also related to the way you see the world. Sometimes we see too much, we are aware of too much, and the overwhelming of all it makes us depressed.
You can stop thinking the way you are thinking and try to change your thoughs through action.
First, become involved with other people: volunteer in groups that have goals that you like, or become involved with animals (like animal rescue and care). That helps a lot, because you'll see another part of the world and will see that there are many good people and smart people out there and that some of those people need help too.
Second, try to think about your current situation: is there something that bothers you? Maybe school? Girls? Friends? Your parents? Your future? Your environment?
If you can change something, try to do it now. You may drop out from school if you feel that's not working, and go homeschooling or get a job and complete your school online or at night.
You may need someone close to you to talk to. Do you have a family member, a friend, a teacher or a doctor that you trust? Try to talk about your feelings.
It is also a good idea to have a journal. It helps putting your ideas in order, letting your feelings out and freeing you a little from the pressure.
Believe me, not all the life is like the one you know now...there are many ways and many people out there that are different.
It is difficult not to be depressed watching all the things that are around us, but if you try to look beyond the walls, you'll see many other things too.
Good luck and take care. I care about you.
A friend
BTW, I'm atheist too. Don't give up.

stop with the weed. Get a life. Your too young to be all depressed.

Seek professional help.

this can be caused by several things.

right now there are a list of about four people who have posted similar questions that i am emailing tryin to help. i have dealt with quite abit of depression even though im only 17...almost 18. i have tried suicide twice. trust me its not the answer

dont be depressed.....there is always someone there to help you or at least care for you.....if not ...dont cut or smoke......just get a boyfriend or a girlfriend.....dude go to church......let God help you......if no one loves you ....at least he does

I think your pretty pathetic. Did Mommy not get you a new gameboy? Your 15, you have your entire life ahead of you and your ruining it by scarring your body and being stoned all the time. Go get into football or something, At least find an activity to keep you busy most of the day.. so you wont have time to think about getting high and destroying your body.

The answers are out there friend but the sad part is when folks want to stop searching for them. I had a life changing experience with the Savior and He changed my life forever. That was a little over 36 years ago. I was doing so many things wrong but again He changed my want too's. I encourage you to ask Him to forgive you and to come into your life sincerely from the bottom of your heart. Trust me, He will help you change your life. Emmett M

i don't get cutting. i could never do it. whenever i feel like i want to i pluck out hairs instead. not excessively, just the stray ones that i have lots of. and the bikini area--pain for hours there. I haven't gone to the legs yet.

but since you are only 15 i don't know how much excessive hair you have. and you might not want to do that since you are a guy and it might not grow back as much.

i say if the weed is the only thing that makes you happy then you need to stop it. resume only when you have a fufilling life full of happiness already.

attempting suicide is not cool. you will most likely live and just end up locked up in the psych ward. and then you will be labeled and stigmatized the rest of your life which only leads to worse depression.

there is someone in the world who loves and needs you and you have to figure out who those people are and remind yourself of them whenever you feel like killing yourself.

i have little cousins who keep me here. and my 3 best friends. and my mom.

i am also a cutter and have depression so i understand where u are coming from...yes its a normal sign of depression u should tell ur parents and get some help from a therapist and a dr to priscribe u meds

I'm sorry you have been feeling so depressed. I am pretty much the same boat right now, minus the weed. I talked to someone on the pastoral staff at my church because I have been feeling suicidal. From someone who is right in the middle of the pain, I say choose life, not death. Try to talk to a trusted teacher or your guidance counselor at school. They can get you connected with a therapist. Depression and suicide are things you can't deal with on your own. You need to talk to someone who can give you the support and professional help that you need. I also will be going for counseling again because that is what I need to do in order to live. I don't know where you live, but there must be a crisis line you can call if you need to do that. Since you are on the internet, you could probably find a crisis number online for your area. Please don't attempt to take your life. Doing drugs probably isn't going to help your situation, either, even though it gives you a temporary high, but I don't need to harp on that, because you've probably heard that a million times. Don't give up. Please try to find someone you can talk to. It does get better, I know it does.

There are generally three or four reasons for suicide, a person voluntarily ending his own life.

A look at history and current events will yield examples of each.
The first reason: a trusted person in authority commanded or ordered the suicide. The loyal person subject to that authority simply followed orders. Hitler gave such commands to political enemies. Most followed the order because failure to obey meant their entire family would be wiped out. Japanese pilots in World War Two guided their planes into enemy craft. They followed orders.
The second reason: a person believes that his death will benefit someone else. An example might be organ donation which will definitely kill the donor. Another example might be lessoning a burden of resources on surviving or remaining members of a family, crew, or other unit. There is a history of this with shipwrecks.
The third reason: a person is crying out for help. That person doesn't know how else to get attention. That person desperately wants help of some kind.
The fourth reason: a person has lost hope. People need hope for the future. It is debatable whether or not this could be a cry for help. But definitely a loss of hope exists. People need to have hope that things can and/or will get better.

You are valuable. You deserve to grow and prosper. I suggest you seek help. There is no good reason for you to die at your own hands. History shows no good comes from a death which comes because of a loss of hope. Little good, if any, comes from the other deaths.

DON'T give up. It's that simple. People do care. You are important. You just have to talk with someone. Go to a doctor. Go to a pastor or priest. Get help.

please try not to be an atheist...... there r so many things that people "respect" in this country that should actually change...

But that's not the reason i'm answering ur Q anyway........
Suicidal thoughts do not make u a bad person- u r a very sincere, happy-yes, smart, and even spiritual person
Why throw away ur life?
get a hobby, a partner, a friend
Do not do not ruin life by taking the wrong drug or taking it away all together!
open ur beautiful eyes
