I am cutting everyone out of my life, why?!


Question: in the past couple of weeks,i have become really anti-social.
i use to love going out with my friends and doing fun things, even if we just hung around and chatted, aslong as i was around people and being social it was good.
now all i want to do is stay at home and do 'housey' things..i.e cooking, washing, cleaning. or just watch a movie.
i dont answer my phone if it is on, and i dnt seek out to see what people are doing so i can join in.
i really dont know why i do this, but i am scared i am going to lose my friends because they will think i dnt want to do those things anymore.... i wanna know how i can get my spark back??

Becoming less sociable than usual is one of many signs of depression, but that alone doesn't mean you are depressed. It could also a sign of being overloaded, i.e., having too much structure in your life. It could also be a sign of how you feel about your relationships with your friends. Maybe those particular relationships aren't that meaningful to you. If thats the case, try and seek out relationships which ARE more meaningful to you.

I don't think one simply "becomes anti social". Usually, there is a good reason for that. Maybe you're spending a lot of time at work, or maybe you are needing more variety in your life, or maybe you just got sick of hanging out with the same people day after day after day. That is certainly not an exhaustive list, but it might give you a place to start from to examine how you feel, and why you feel that way.

maybe after a couple days of trying
u'll get ur "spark" back
dont worry too much about it
it might just be a phase that your going through

Hey. I totally know how you're feeling right now. It will be alright okay? Somehow or another. I don't answer my phone when it's on & every time i'm invited somewhere I make up excuses. I am confused just like you... I'm still trying to find that spark. I didn't mean to not give an answer because I wish I had one for you. I just want to give you a word of encouragement and just know that you're not alone on this one. I truly hope you figure it all out and that it doesn't become serious. Goodluck.

sometimes once you realize what your missing its best... So take some time to be by yourself and before you know it you will miss doing the things you have fun doing and will be back to your old ways.

It happened to me as well and keep going until now. I think It's fine as long as I have activities to do to keep you busy, alive and happy. Give yourself time, and you'll go back later..; but if you experiencing sadness and depress you should seek help.
Real friends will be friends no matter what you've been through..

I find myself lately doing the same thing cutting everyone out of my life; but my motive is so that I won't miss anyone when I move; I am moving this week to Kansas City Mo; leaving Omaha NE and for the last two weeks all I have been doing is picking arguments and fights with everyone; everyday I do ar say something to one of my friends to make them real mad at me; ;but my one friend he tells me no matter what I do or say to him he will always be my friend ; cause he realizes that I am trying to break away and to him he says that he is not going to let that happened; so if I just need space and time then for me to go ahead and get it cause he will always be here for me; what's a girl to do?
