Is it normal to keep losing jobs?!

Question: I was called into work today. My boss told me not to come back. I feel embarrassed posting details on here (in case she has a computer at home too) but basically she said I tried hard but was forgetting little everyday things and that I was not really cut out for the type of work I am doing. I have been there 2 weeks and she said I should be able to take over and do it myself by now. I guess I was overwhelmed with information (which is really no excuse) I have lost so many jobs since I was diagnosed with psychotic depression. Even though I am now well and recovered, I still get overwhelmed and forget little things. Is this normal?

YES this is normal with someone who has depression! Rarrrgh@everyone else.
You should be proud you are funtioning and are able to work. You're not using that as an excuse to sit at home. Good for you! It's really hard to focus sometimes. Advice, try a job where details and multi-tasking aren't priority ie: busy call center etc. Try Clothing store etc. These are just examples. Im not saying you can't work as an engineer or anything. lol.
Good luck! Don't take it personally, its just not for you and you have to find your talent :)

well if your losing so many jobs this is a trend that needs to be looked at. well, I am just gonna flat out say, your not trying hard enough. you should be able to do simple tasks.

don't use depression as a scapegoat. just try a little harder. you need to concentrate more because you don't just 'forget' things.

no is not healthy and normal to keep loosing jobs, there is a reason, maybe not the same one, everytime, but there is a reson why you seem uable to keep a job. This will hinder your future, are you aware of that? Employers will see your inablity to stay focused or with one place, and eventually you wont be able to find a career, a decent job, worth your time and effort. First of all are you working ini fields that you enjoy? Are you educated if not go back to school and do that for awhile live off student loans and do what you need to about gettin a small side job. Are you still in therapy, if so you need to talk to him./her about what is a good place for you, are you able to handle working 40hrs a week or do you need to start out small like 20 hours a week, or only one day on one day off, something like that. This repeattive behavior is a problem and im sure there are other areas of your life your are having problems with, eating, sleeping, worrrying, things like that should still be adressed with a thrapist, there is hope for you, I was diagnosed with borederline persaonality disorder along time ago and had alot of jobs, moving all the time, from place to place, city to city, lived pretty much nomadically anywhere i could or anywhere anyone would have me, it got old living that way, and i ended up in the hospital for attempted suicide, (more then once,) finally i got paired up with a great doctor and therapist, but it was alot of work on my part too. I had to be committed and honest about what I could and couldnt do, I didnt for work almost 8months last year. just to get my self better, i am now, and have had so many great advances in my life. Just remeber to keep trying, dont give in, and try looking for a career not just a job, like i said try going to school if you can, dont put too much on our plate. only what you and your doctors think you can handle. Good luck hun,,

Find the job that makes you happy.perhaps you should try to look for something in a field of interest to you. There are many different jobs and many different ways to go about attaining those jobs, just remember: if you aren't pleased with what you are doing, the only person who can change the course of your life is YOU.
