Citalopram affecting my concentration... how can I focus on what I'm doing?!

Question: I'm a student, and I'm finding it really hard to focus on the lectures and to write my essays as my concentration is almost zero. Otherwise the meds are helping me but I need to find a way of increasing my concentration, as I can barely manage to listen to a full sentence at the moment. I'm not convinced this is all down the meds either, but anyway, can you give me any tips for increasing concentration and ability to focus?

Thanks.

You need to speak to your tutor about this problem, so that ways can be found to support you with your studies. Otherwise they may conclude that there are other reasons for your lack of academic performance and kick you off the course. If you are in the UK, your uni should be able to respond positively to supporting your additional learning needs - but you do need to make them aware there is a problem. Good luck
You may find it easier with the help of someone from your student welfare or counselling team

I had to come off citralopram as well because I had the same problems! But when on it, it may not be beneficial in the long run, but I gave Pro Plus a go and drank some red bull. It gives you the mental alertness you need.

Another solution is to speak to your dr about the concerntration. They may be able to give you some techniques or strategies to help.

Speak to your Doctor about this problem and quickly!!
I took this vile drug and could not concentrate. I could not stay still either I was on the move all the time and could not relax.
I lost my job at the begining of December no thanks to being put on this sh*t!!
I am now off this drug struggling along on a daily basis - but hey I'm surviving and have another job (ok so its part time but its keeping the wolf away from the door!)
Good luck to you :-)

You should only be taking Citalapram at night as they will make you very drowsy wanting sleep. Never take during the day.
