High IQ and mental illness?!

Question: Is there a proven link between high IQ and mental illness? I've heard of it, but I don't know if it is proven that high IQ means a higher susceptibility to mental illness? I have an IQ of 160 and diagnosed schizophrenia. I know others personally who have IQs of around 130-160 and they have depression, bipolar etc.

Science may have yet to prove that there is indeed a correlation (as with many other things it has yet to 'prove') but there are many, many cases whereby those with a higher IQ are plagued with a 'mental disorder' of some kind.

After years of pondering the same question myself and studying psychology in pursuit of the answer, I personally have come to believe that indeed, there is.

Interesting side note: the 'crazies' in all other cultures, are the blessed ones, the seer
