Is Concerta the same thing as Adderall? are they both considered "speed&quo!

Question: i am debating on whether or not to start taking Adderall for my ADD but then i heard about the Concerta. i've heard some bad things about the Adderall as far as side effects and such. has anyone taken one and then switched to the other? which was better? thanks!!

well they're not considered speed for people with ADD/ADHD. it is considered speed for people without ADD/ADHD.
i'm on adderall, used to be on concerta, before that i was on ritalin. concerta never worked for me...and no, concerta isn't really like adderall. as for the side effects...i don't think i have ever experienced side effects. well except for losing a little weight. but i'd recommend asking a psychiatrist or your regular doctor...stuff like that is NOT meant to be bought from a dealer..... so yeah, i've tried the top names for my ADHD. ritalin worked for like 3 or 4 years. then i went on concerta for some reason, worked a year but it stopped and it kindda made me feel funky. adderall is great..i've been taking it for a year....i got straight a's now...and seriously, i made my family take me out to dinner and get me a fake plaque (for jokes) that says i'm on the honor roll. haha...cause i've always had poor grades. talk to your doctor!!!
adderall works amazing. all stimulants are meant to be taken in the MORNING. otherwise you'll stay up late

if you don't want to be on medication (youre gonna have to take it daily, not whenever you feel like it. the meds kick in after the 1st week by the way) i recommend drinking energy drinks like red bull and monster. one little red bull can equals 5mg of ritalin for people with ADD and ADHD.

they are both stimulants, concerta is really just ritalin in an extended release from. Adderal is also extended release and it is based on amphetamines.

My daughter was on Concerta and experienced very bad side effects, .e.g. headache, irritation and depression. I tried it myself (just to see what she was going through) and it was awful. So i took her off it. I don't think Adderal is any better. What i want to suggest is a non-stimulant drug called Strattera, it is MUCH better for you and has fewer extreme side effects.

does it reall matter! DON'T TAKE DRUGS !!!

Historically, the central nervous system stimulants - alerting agents is the single category of medicines which temporarily reduces ADHD symptoms in some persons (not everyone). The weakest stimulant is coffee - caffeine compounds; stronger stimulants include Ritalin, Dexedrine, Adderall, etc.

Since all the above stimulants are all different chemical structures, one of them can work for a person better than the others. It varies from person to person. A med for ADHD does not work for everyone, only some. In some cases, the right choice is to be med-free. Good luck.

ive taken every add med out there. concerta is my favorite, almost no side effects, and my mood is a little better on it. adderall made me depressed, and i felt really guilty all the time. try concerta!
