Not being able to sleep is very common. Many people have issues sleeping when they have also going on in their head. You don't need to go to a metal hospital, but you may want to consult a doctor regarding sleeping medication. They will need to review what you are on now to be sure it would not clash.

When you cannot sleep, you are more prone to get more agitated and other problems are more amplified. And as such, in your case, the lack of sleep is making it even harder to get good sleep.

Best advice - call a doctor or visit a pharmacist to see if there is some sleep medication you can take ( with the other medication you are currently taking )

Good Luck - Wish sleep finds you soon...

i think you should call your doctor. and no they wont just send you away to a mental institution. not being able to sleep can send a person with no known emotional/mental problems into a complete frenzy. its stressful you become shaky and irritable and sometimes paranoid. so dont be worried.
Look- it could be the adderall because if the dosage is wrong or if it has become something you're body doesnt need any longer or for some reason is immune to it will give you the im cracked out cant sleep feeling. so discuss this with your doctor.

Hi hon...

any time we are having serious issues and symptoms, our best bet is to contact the doctor and talk to the staff about these symptoms...

just because you are unable to sleep and experiencing depression, doesn't make you a candidate for the hospital, especially if you are seeking doctor's advice.

Consider asking your doctor to add an anti-anxiety medicine.....ask him for Zanax....it is the best to help with both anxiety and will help you to sleep. Be firm when asking for it, though, because many doctors refuse to give it, due to its addictive nature. You HAVE to take only the dosage given, and NO MORE....but I have tried all the others, and it is the only one that really works. Good luck.
PS: Natural ways to help with sleep...take Melatonin, which is a natural substance that helps your body get back into a regular sleep pattern. And, Calcium and magnesium are both
minerals that help the body relax....take them just before bed.

No one is going to put you in a mental hospital because you have ADHD or Bi-polar and need to be on medicine.

How long have you been on the Adderall?

It could be the adderall, if could be too much of a high dosage for you, or your Lamictal could be too little of a dosage. I can't tell you how to sleep for tonight, maybe take a tylonol pm or something to help you sleep. But it sounds like you should talk to a psychiatrist to help you figure out if you need to change dosages or what could be causing this.

You are not crazy if you see a psych, they are there to help you.

You arent getting sleep since u are feeling depressed.

Acc to DSM IV there are many axis to amke a diagnosis. On axis IV psychosocial conditions are diagnosed.Probably these conditions are causing you stress .

Well i'm not sure if i can add much to what the others have said.. But let me try

I am currently manic.. I yell and scream. Think people are mad at me.. And cry uncontrolably. I am Overly happy.. IT's just a mess!! Seriously.

So trust me when I say this. You Do need to go to a hospital. They will help regulate your meds so that you can get a good nights sleep while being free from the mainia. They more than likely will have you evaluated. And if you aren't a danger.. Just there for help cause your manic and don't know what to do. Then they will just send you home.

I am on 300 mg of lamictal, 20 of lexapro, 5.5 of risperadol and oodles of other meds.. And when I was really bad they had to add on Clonazepam (Klonopin) To calm me down so i could sleep .. so i still take that from time to time..

BE CAREFUL, It is RX only and very addictive. So do not get some from anyone else (not saying your like that but some will try it .. ) And be monitored by a Dr while on it.

If you do not want to go that route.. I find that Walgreens Unisom helps tremendously.. I persoanlly take two to sleep but I'm fat.. LOL Soo.. Try one or even half of one.. And see how you feel.

Beyond that there is Crying, Writing, Sreaming, Fighting.. Lots of energy wasting activities help you calm down and sleep!!

Good Luck
