Well, im 19 years old. Ive delt with bipolar all my life. And im dislexic with a.d.d. Yeah, my Genes pretty much suck. Get her bi-polar regulated on meds. And no matter what they say dont mix them with a.d.h.d meds. If you she will be so comatos she will drule without realizing it. Trust me ive been there. And dont let her get away with not taking her bipolar meds, if shes in a manic state theres no way in hell she will do it willingly, being like that just feels way to good. If shes having problems consentrating get her extended testing time in a seperate setting enviroment. And when i say seperate i mean seperate. Make sure shes alone with a teacher and thats it. If you leave it up to the school system then she will be in a room with 20 other kids just like her. And dont let them tell your daughter she cant do something, she can do any career if she works for it. Most those assholes are just bitter and hate the life they live. My guidence councler was worthless as **** on a bull. All he ever did is tell me how i couldent make it in college and i should just get a job. And in case your wondering, my school was in the ghetto. Anyways im in my first semester of community college and im doin pretty good for my self. Good luck.

if she isn't hyper than she has ADD.
bipolar disorder sufferers (and schizophrenic people) are more likely to develop ADD or ADHD. but i think it's bull about boys are more likely to have it....cause it's not like that. i have had ADHD since i was 6...and my sister who is 16 (i am 18) has it too...she was diagnosed probably a few years later than i did.
she needs to see a psychiatrist. did she see a regular doctor or a psychiatrist? because i think the person who said she has ADHD was really wrong....people aren't ADHD if they aren't hyper....she has ADD.

i think that's a crock what they are saying to you.
take her out of this testing thing....take her to a psychiatrist.
she has ADD not ADHD

I don't know, I'm too ADHD to read all that.. Wanna ride a bike?

Bipolar disorder can look a lot like ADHD. Its possible she might have both. If she is on medication for bipolar disorder and the medication is working for her, just stick to that. But if its not working for her consider trying a medication for ADHD.
I was told that I was bi-polar since I was 14 and after several failed medications, I was told I may have ADHD instead. I am 21 and I am just now getting results after starting ADHD medication a month ago.
My advice is too gather more information about Bi-Polar disorder and ADHD. And have her evaluated by a psychiatrist if needed. They can help you and your daughter develop a plan to overcome whatever it is.

have her tested by doctors ans see what they say
