16 and bored out of my mind?!

Question: hey guys, im a 16 year old male living in australia and lately ive been finding myself extremely bored, whenever i come home from school i can never find anything to do, i usually end up sitting on the computer talking to people on msn until i go to bed, i try to get off and do something productive all the time but i cant seem to find anything to do, im a very social person, i have many friends, and in the afternoons im always out, but whenever i get home im just so bored, i do have a job and the soccer seasons about to start and i play that.

i guess im just finding everything very repative and i dont feel like im accomplishing anything, i guess i need to find a hobby or something like that, but i cant seem to find anything that works yet, i wanted to learn guitar, but i cant afford a tutor at the moment and i have trouble motivating myself to try to teach myself, can anybody help?

You sound like a normal 16 year old. I would suggest learning guitar, try to start a band. You can mess around writing poems or lyrics or spend time working out (if you dare to exercise, personally I loathe exercise but, to each his own). I spent my mid-teen years listening to The Smashing Pumpkins...major ownage.

just go and study at school that helps

guitar hero helps you to learn...

You should watch Monta and the Warriors
Monta Ellis 4 President

Read a book. Harry Potter is great for bored minds...

I suggest to get a couple of mates over and have a soccer game or something. Any sport is better than sitting in front of the computer for ages.

Tough situation. I've been in it before.

I started learning a foreign language (Chinese) in my spare time. I kept up with it, and once I got to university I actually ended up majoring in it. So who knows where it could take you.

Do you live on the Gold Coast, if so take up surfing man! I live smack dab in the middle of the United States, I don't think I would ever get bored living in Australia!

yeah, study, or teach yourself guitar, when you find something you actually want to do, you'll know. Keep doin stuff; i actually tend to do homework. or audition for a musical, great way to meet new friends

well why don't you find something fun to obsess about.. Politics (always gets you somewhere) Languages (simple as renting some foriegn movies.. ) umm.. cooking.. Yeah that's a great one. My fiance is a Chef.. He started cooking at like 4.. And you know what.. It Is AWSOME.. Part of the reason I agreed to marry him.

I don't really do much by way of hobbies. I'm working on a non profit, and a scrapbooking biz.. Maybe you could take your boredom and do something to make money??

Maybe being a computer friend.. LOL>. I actually saw one Lady who is a "instant friend' she gives people her 1 800 number and they call her and charge their credit cards 10$ an hour.. OMG.

I would never do that personally.. (pay or talk) But there have to be some untapped resources in your area =)

HTH

For 16 your normal.

Sounds like a typical teenager...can't wait to grow up and be out there in the world....thank God for this time to figure out what you are skilled at doing, and then pursue it with all your heart ! There are plenty of Australians over here in the USA who started out in Australia as actors, and now are stars over here....ever consider that one? How about the great beaches I have heard about there? Glad to hear you play soccer....that certainly could lead to a great career! Look at the positive things you have going on, and try to stop obsessing over negative stuff.
