What's the average (honestly)?!
Question: I'm 19 and only have two close friends and one or two acquaintences that I talk to on occasion, but that's it. What's the average number of friends someone has at 19? I know there's no "normal" and that I shouldn't compare myself, but I want to know if my social anxiety has caused me to have less friends and what's an average amount. Thanks.

What is better - to have a whole bunch of "friends" or a handful of GOOD friends that you know you can count on no matter what? I stick to the latter, and Im 25. I used to feel the same way, but then I moved out of state. I had a whole bunch of so called friends back home, now I know that the handful of friends that have kept in touch with me is better than having a bunch of "friends" or as I call now acquaintances.
I have 5 close friends, and alot of acquainttences, and been tha way all my life!
I vote for quality... not quantity of friends
at age 19 i was in college and had 2 close friends. I had various acquaintences in classes, and i was in an aquarium club and had some more there. But I'd only pal with 1 or 2 at time. maybe go get a burger or soemthing.
I'm kind of an introvert anyhow, and I tended always to have a close friend or 2 and not a lot of aquaintances.
I have about 3 close friends.
Would you rather have two close friends than twenty fake friends that will stab you in the back whenever they can?
im 14 and have only maybe 5 close friends, many many other friends that i cant trust as much as others.
