School and depression.....help??!

Question: I feel really depress, I'm not doing well in the art college I'm in, and I need counseling. As much as I really like to draw, this school is providing me the things I want to do or that will help me. I go to Art Institute in Seattle. I really wish there wish there was someone who can help me on what I am going through. Not just school, but how I feel about my life. I always feel like I'm being pressure when I'm not and due to so much stress and depression, I thought about committing suicide since I always think I'm a failure.
I failed 2 classes, dropped out 2 classes, and my mom told me that the school says I have only 3 credits. I feel miserable and down. She also said that I should just go back home and go to college there when the college she talking about doesn't provide what I want. I know she only cares about me graduating, but I am realizing that she's pressuring me when she acts like she is not (her tone is proof).

What can I do to keep my life going??

all colleges (that i know of) have some sort of school psychologists/health center on campus. its free if you paid a college service charge, i recommend that first.

also, your mental and emotional health directly reflects your physical health (especially if you are considering suicide) and therefore takes precedence over school. please take care of yourself, seek help, and get better. you can ALWAYS go back to school when you are ready, that is the beauty of college. (if youre concerned whether or not they'll let you back, dont. all colleges commend those who have struggled with personal issues, they will be thrilled to have a gem like you back to represent their school)

please seek help. you are NOT a failure. you are a human being with basic needs, and right now you need to focus on feeling better. and remember that a lot of people care, I CARE!

the best of luck to you, my friend. please hang in there, and i hope you feel better soon <3 :D

She also might be noticing the changes in your behavior and/or mood and wants to help you by offering for you to come back home, go to school, and get some medical care - - just a possibility.

As for what to do, only you know the situation at home and can judge whether or not that would work out for you.

Understandably, you want to go to the school where you are, but on the other hand, if you are failing and there are problems with depression and possibly worse, then you aren't getting what you want from the school, and you may soon be in danger of expulsion.

First, get the depression under control. See your regular doctor first, and he/she will get you on track. Then, get some counseling. Most schools offer counseling to their students. Lastly (but certainly not least), if you begin to have suicidal feelings again, call your local student hotline. They will get you help immediately. That's what they do.

Good luck!

leave home and go somewhere else and go to the college you want to don't feel that bad your life isn't over

I was going to IM you but you don't allow that..... you can message me.... if I am online. It is important to graduate because your success in life is usually better... not say all college drop outs or those who never went will never become successful... ie Bill Gates. anyway. It sounds like you have a lot of things going on. Figure out what you want and need to do and do it... I would say get some counseling would be a good start, and draw, paint or photograph whatever your passion is and do that. if you have 3 credits and you are in school or not right now? I am very confused. but if it is between sessions... take a session off, if you live in your own apartment or rent a house or something get a job.... and work for a while as you go to counseling, get over the depression or at least get it under control. Don't move back home and go to a school where you don't have the courses that you want to take. But you need to get the depression under control and that can take a few months or longer... you might be able to function well and go to school, and things will be alright, and keep working on the meds and therapy......
