Ugh. This is annoying me?!
Question: My dad hasnt been very nice to me my whole life. He is a lot better and I have forgiven him. Whats bugs me is that I get VERY grumpy, rude, sad and mad everytime he talks to me. I don't know why. It makes me so grumpy when he is in the same room as me. I just want him to go away and quit talking to me. I feel really bad about this because its not normal for me to not be able to stand being in the same room as him. Any advice? Should I just stay away from him? Because I am not gonna get over this. I can't.

I could have been reading my own story there Erica...I don't know the solution, I find it hard to even talk to my dad and say something nice. Nice to know Im not the only one, it makes me feel like a terrible person but I hope Im not

It's really up to you but maybe you could tell him one day, "I feel this way________ because I always felt ______ growing up with you." Maybe expressing your hurt and anger up-front will help you both realize the situation and move towards reconciliation. Maybe he could then realize that if he wants a normal relationship with you he will have to make amends for his past actions and you may get the peace of mind you need. If that doesn't work, and if you still feel only anger towards him at least you know you did all you could.
