Seeing something that is not there?!
Question: I traveled to a foreign country, for the first time which was very different from the US. I think I was a little shocked and in the first day, before any sleep, I saw a sign for a restaurant that wasn't there. I asked about it and my friends who lived there said it didn't exist and immediately I knew I had imagined it. Is there a name for this?

Culture shock, possibly. It may have triggered a fugue like state, akin to the hypnotic and hypnogogic states, in which your imagination plays a role in your perceptions. Next time, rest up for a day or so, and only venture out of your accomodations for a short time, at first, to orientate yourself.
well if thats the only time you hallucinated something its probley nothing, it happens alot. if you see people/things alot that arnt there i would see your phychologist.
Hallucination.
It is a perception in the absence of a stimulus that the person may or may not believe is real. Hallucinations may occur in any sensory modality
