At least he has a personality.

It all depends on the man.. Just like a man without borderline personality disorder can be dangerous.

Yes. "Patients Can Really Ruin Your Day

So we're starting out, it seems, with a pool of well-meaning but slightly damaged practitioners. Now the real fun begins.

Check out the numbers: According to studies published in 1990 and 1991, half of all therapists are at some point threatened with physical violence by their clients, and about 40 percent are actually attacked. Try to put this in context. A special, intimate relationship exists between therapist and client. So being attacked by a client is a serious emotional blow, perhaps comparable, in some cases, to being a parent attacked by one's child. Needless to say, therapists who are assaulted get very upset. They feel more vulnerable and less competent, and sometimes the feelings of inadequacy trickle over into their personal relationships." ( The above is from: http://psychologytoday.com/articles/inde... )
BPD's have such as bad reputation as being the worst offenders, that some therapists refuse to take them on. See section 15, at http://www.ezy-build.net.nz/~shaneris

I didn't do a LOT of research on this, but it looks like there are more intense emotional outbursts in borderline than for most other person, so that COULD be directed against others. In most cases, people with the diagnosis direct that violence against themselves tho (suicide attempt).

Many people are mis-diagnosed tho. I had that label for awhile, even tho I didn't fit hardly any criteria, and those I did, were totally explained by bipolar disorder. Most mental illnesses do not increase the potential for violence, no matter what the general public thinks.

one more note, from a website:

Joel paris MD

The diagnosis of BPD received much attention after the release of a film called Fatal Attractionin which a character played by Glenn Close (Alex Forrest) shows some of the above symptoms. Remember that Alex Forrest is fictional character and not an actual patient. Nor was this character based on a true story or an actual patient. The illness can manifest itself in many ways, but rarely is violence taken out on another person or animal as portrayed in the film.

Possibility exists if he gets aggressive
