Refusing to be admitted to an eating disorder clinic...?!

Question: Whats the worst that could happen?

Answers: Whats the worst that could happen?

I've struggled with one for over 25 years. I'm a Mom, now, with a young daughter of my own. I would be devastated if she ever saw me,uh, you know. If she knew I had this problem, I would be humiliated. My husband knows, but that's different.

I recently read a good book which helped me to understand this disorder of mine. It's called "Lying in Weight: The Hidden Epidemic of Eating Disorders in Adult Women" by Trisha Gura. I don't really believe I'll ever not have this. Sucks, but I started so early that it's almost like a way of life for me.

I would suggest that you do what you can to understand what is going on with you, why you have this disorder, learn new ways of dealing with stress and other issues in your heart and get better before it gets too hard.

I wish you the best.

Death.

Good luck to you or your friend. I assure you that anorexia and bulemia need to be taken care of!

You die.

As to the rest of it, it would be unlikely that your counsellor would refuse to see you again as this would be counterproductive. If you were very underweight it is possible that the decision would be made to compel you to go to the unit against your wishes but that is pretty rare. If you're not about to die and your reasons for not going in are valid enough then in all probability absolutely nothing would happen.

u could probably die.

Die.
Never recover.
Be unhappy for rest of your life.
Always be afraid of food and never live a normal life and never enjoy food

you could be sectioned under mental health act and have your right to decide taken away from you

or you could die

The person, left untreated, can die.
A friend, councelor, family member who is healthy and not enabling you, will set boundries with you; My family, friends, workplace, told me I wasnt welcome in there lifes anymore as long as I didnt get help for my addiction/ disease. They followed thru with this.

You could die, rot your teeth, make yourself so sick that you are on medication for the rest of your life.

What you will definitely do:

Hurt the ones that you love and possibly lose them. That seems to be one of the worst things that could happen.

you won't get the proper treatment and if there are medication, you might get the wrong medication and definitely the wrong treatment

If looking like a skeleton in a nazi death camp is what you want, then more power to you!

If you are 18 you can refuse, unless you are very sick and your folks have a court order to have you committed. There is a lifetime movie with Tracy Gold with this subject. I've been in your shoes. I do understand.

can you tell me why you dont eat because that makes alot of difference because sometimes its not about being thin.sammarsh161@msn.com
