Is it possible for the body to feel stressed even though your mind doesn't?!

Question: For the past couple of days my body has been reacting as if I am under stress: shallow breathing, headaches, loss of sleep, sometimes dizzy. However, I can't think of anything that I feel I am concered or deeply concerned about. What do I do about it? I know it's not heart related as I already went to my doctor to rule that out.

You might be experiencing anxiety or panic. Sometimes there seems to be no reason for these "attacks" - I know my father has panic attacks for no outside reason - it has to do with his body over-producing the "stress hormone". You might want to talk to your doctor again, and bring up this possibility.

Your body could be fighting a virus. Didn't your doctor give you any other possible ideas? If not, I'd find another doctor.

Adrenaline reaction, sounds like. I suggest relaxation techniques like yoga or meditation.

*Is is possible for the body to feel things that the brain isn't? *Yes. The brain just puts an interpretation to the reactions that the body is feeling. Actors use this technique consciously, to put forward the required emotions for their different roles. (Method Acting) You an actor? ;-)

Uhh.. yeah. I take anatomy and psychology which studies the body and mind and my teacher told me that your body recooperates during sleep. That's the reason we sleep.

Click on psychology at that link and it should help... I think

yes, it can show up physically even if you don't feel it mentally. happens to me all the time.
