Im really homesick..miss home like crazy..anyone ever felt this way..HELP?!

Question: I was born and raised in an Indian city..Had an awesome childhood, wonderful friends, great neighborhood and everything a girl could ever ask for...
A year ago, my dad had to move to Hawaii..He got a job there because of which I had to come to the US to study,..My mom is with my dad right now and I'm attending college in Ohio,,,It's been almost a year since I moved to the US and I started

college last fall('07)..I'm 18 years old..
The thing is I miss home like crazy..I'm terribly homesick..I miss the 'familiar'...I so wish I could back to my childhood home and live there for the rest of my life.
When I was in India, i was excited about the fact that I was gonna be going to the US to study but now that I'm here, I feel like going back. (don't get me wrong...I feel that way coz I wasn't born and brought up in the US)
This is my second quarter here and I'm doing awful on chemistry..There's so much going on in my life..i'm homesick, i'm facing a culture shock and im doing badly inmy clas

Ive been in the Army for a few years now and I know exactly what your talking about. Being away from the familiar is a very hard thing. I take it you get that knot in your stomach. Best way to deal with that in my opinion is to not forget things back home but to do things there that remind you of home. If you meet people that remind you of friends back home, thats great. As far as culture shock goes I know what you mean. I went from California to Germany and to Iraq in under a year. Each place I went I tried to find something that reminded me of back home (Chicago) and spent alot of time doing that thing. Well hope this helps some!

no so sorry because i was born and rasied in the town i grew up in
