Do I have Bi-Polar disorder?!

Question: Because recently I have become withdrawn and can go from happy one minute, to desperately miserable in the next.

I also think nasty thoughts of myself, and I recently cry a lot.

Is it possible I may be bipolar??

It's possible you could have a number of things. Maybe you should speak to a doctor before self-diagnosis. Everyone has up and down feelings but we all deal with them in different ways. Many people with bipolar don't even realise they have it, and some people have emotional disorders that can be treated with therapy and activity.

Yes it is possible.
or this could just be a phase your going through. I'm bipolar and how you described it it is basically right except i snap and explode at people if they say one little thing wrong. its not on purpose i cant help it and i dont take meds for it but you should go to a psychiatrist or something and get evaluated if you think you might be bipolar

It's possible but only a doctor can tell you. The symptoms don't necessarily mean you have that condition. It could be you are just going through some bad times. It happens to everyone. However, if this becomes more serious and continuous for a long time, you should definitely see a doc.

I would definitely investigate chronic Lyme/coinfections and microwave sickness/electromagnetic sensitivities if you are having mood swings like that.

I spent 15 years on psych meds to learn recently that I have both. And yeah, I was labeled "bipolar".

Only a doctor can diagnose you.

Yes it could be Bi-polarism. If you are bi-polar it doesn't necessarily mean that you have mood swings from one minute to the next. There are different types of bi-polarism, and there is also uni-polarism. But you can be down for days or weeks on end, and then you can suddenly have a few good days.

Symptoms manifest themselves in different ways. Some people cry, some people have outbursts, some people hibernate, some people get angry.

You should go to a doctor and ask them to try out a mood stabilizer on you. I had no clue that I was bi-polar. I just thought I was depressed. I didn't cry or anything, just couldn't get motivated. But he put me on Lamictal and I've had fantastic results. Like night and day!

Talk to your doctor, and just do a little bit of reading online about it. Sometimes the wrong way to go about this is to self-diagnose. In doing so, you walk into the doctor telling them how to treat you. And then you might not be aware of other things that they know. So you should just report your symptoms and let them be the professional and try to diagnose you and put you on the proper treatment plan.

You may not be bi-polar, rather just be stressed out. That's why you need to talk to a doctor to try and get down to the bottom of things. He/she will ask you questions like how long this has been happening, etc. They will take many things into consideration that you might have never even thought of.

only a psychiatrist can do a proper evaluation to diagnose bi-polar or anything else for that matter call you local mental health department and they can help you. if you are bi-polar it's not the end of the world it just means that like a diabetic you'll need medication to keep yourself healthy. good luck

Bipolar mood states usually last for a week or longer. Feeling "up" is not feeling regular good or ordinary happy. It usually includes high energy, reduced need for sleep, and possibly irritability. Cycling minute by minute is *extremely* rare unless a person is in a mixed state (depressed and hypo/manic). Depression, however, often includes anxiety which can be like irritability. In other words, what you are describing could be many things other than bipolar, and actually is more suggestive of other things. That said, no one here can diagnose you. See a psychiatrist. There is no reason for you to continue to suffer.
