Anxiety can be when you feel very uptight. You may have trouble calming down and sitting still. You may be worried about things more than usual. Your heart may race and your chest may feel tight. You may breath faster. You may feel like you just can't relax. It may give you heartburn too. At least it does me sometimes. Everyone deals with anxiety sometimes, but it should not be often. If you feel uptight often, please talk with your doctor or a counselor. It is not good to feel this way a lot. Good luck and God bless.

Anxiety is a feeling of nervousness or unease. It is different than depression which is a feeling of immobilizing sadness.

anxiety occurs when u feel worried about something..

yeah alot of times it has to do with depression but not always. I have it & Im not depressed. Its your mind telling you to fear when there is no reason to fear. Like a switch gets fliped somehow. If it doesnt get treated it can get alot worse. Mine has. Most times I find it hard to even leave home. I just started getting treatment for it a couple weeks ago. Theres alot of sites that can tell you everything you need to know about it. Just type "anxiety" in your search bar & read away.

Anxiety = anxiousness = worry = unsettled feelings = nervous
anxiety can be behind your thoughts being centered on a particular topic or person or event.

Depression, while commonly known for its aspects of sadness,
is when your brain has difficulties functioning, including inaccurate perceptions, inability to make sound decisions, reasoning can be difficult. Emotions feel unusually out of control as far as anger or tears or hopelessness. It is not uncommon for the depressed person to feel overwhelmed with problems, and as if they can find no way out, and are up against an impending deadline or crisis, as the future seems very limited. There is a loss of interest in things the person would usually take pleasure in. Even the brightness of daylight is perceived to be shades of gray by the depressed person. The severely depressed person may speak and think and move in slow motion. There may be a withdrawing emotionally from relationships, the sensation of pain, lack of hunger, or vague illnesses. Memory can be impaired. Immediate help is required for the depressed person contemplating death.

Anxiety is a common companion to depression.

Other people have done a good job at explaining anxiety. What I think you need to understand is that everyone can feel anxiety, it can be a normal reaction to a stressful situation. The problem is when you let the anxiety influence your ability to function or when you feel an inappropriate level of anxiety. For example, you might get nervous (anxious) before going on a date or before a job interview. But if the anxiety makes you avoid going out or affects how your behavior then you might have a problem.

Their are three types of anxiety: reality anxiety, neurotic anxiety, and moral anxiety.
Check these out on the web for a in depth explanation, it really is much to complicated to attempt to explain using this format.

The only thing I can add, is my husband was just diagnosed on Thurs. with Anxiety Disorder. I thought he had depression. He was sent to a pyschiatrist who did the diagnosis. What has been said above is dead on. The only thing I would also say that hasn't been said and was told to my husband, with anxiety you have restlessness and trouble sleeping whereas in depression the person usually doesn't want to leave the bed, he does nothing but sleep.
