Consolation after losing a belonging?!

Question: This might seem silly and trivial, but after I lose something I like, I feel really upset. I lost this gorgeous vintage pearl necklace that I got for my 16th birthday. Then I lost my pencil case with a whole bunch of my favorite pens and stuff. And I just lost this lipgloss I always use. Theyre small things, but whenever I think about them, i'm just unhappy.

So what are some positive thoughts I should practice after losing something?

It can take some time to learn that things are things, they come and go. In themselves, they mean little except what meaning we ascribe. Ppl who learn this early often live happier lives. Ppl who don't can get up in believing that whoever has the most toys at the end of life wins, which is absurd. Life is about the relationships enjoyed along the way. Many things bring pleasure, but objects do not return the affection. It's always sad or frustrating to loose or have something taken. The something almost always can be replaced, however. When it can't, the sentiment behind it will always stay with you. In other words, work on recognizing what is a thing that is replaceable, a thing that has sentimental value and focus on the sentiment instead of the thing itself.

Do something that will make you feel good about yourself, such as putting on your favorite piece of jewelry, taking a bath, taking a walk, calling your best friend or so on.

The thing does not define who you are. The loss of the thing does not diminish you as a person. It seems that you're attaching too much weight or importance to material possessions, when other things are so much more important. For instance, compare the loss of a pencil box to the loss of a beloved pet or the loss of a necklace to the loss of your freedom. It makes the material loss pale in comparison, doesn't it? Try to keep your losses in perspective. Things are delightful to have, but they don't make us who we are.

i cant believe your asking this question, buy some new ones and get over it people on here have real mental health problems count yourself lucky that a few pens is all you have to worry about

God can give your Eternal Life as a gift through Jesus. Eternal life is more precious than anything in this world. If you have eternal life, you have everything.

In the Beginning God created heavens and earth.
God gives us air to breathe and sunshine to enjoy.
God gives us water to drink and food to eat.
God gives us a wonderful body and a sound mind and life.
God loves us, and we are precious to Him.
The Son of God died on the Cross to save us from condemnation, and qualifying us to Heaven.
Jesus
