Have you ever thought you had another identity inside yourself?!

Question: Say your birth name is Robert Mayfield. Then when you are talking to someone, the person they are talking to is Robert 1. Robert 1 is what you are 24 hours. It is the real you. But all of a sudden Robert 2 comes out, and Robert 2 starts acting way different then Robert 1.

Robert 2 would change his voice. Robert would act more aggressive than Robert 1. And you feel like Robert 2 is going to take over Robert 1. Then after he takes over Robert 2 is going to be in control of things in life.

(Robert 2 is completely different than Robert 1, who is Robert all the time, the Robert that everyone knows)

Everyone knows Robert 1, all the times. He has friends and everything. But Robert 2 no one knows nothing about his lifestyle or anything, and he used to be an imaginary friend of Robert 1.

Have you ever dealt with that?

What would you do if you have?

What does it mean?

yes i actually felt the same before, but it turned out to be my hyper mood. i had 2 of myself, and the first one who is me is what every body knows, but then the second one would take over and would start buying different things i dont usually buy (even though it would be still me and im aware of whats goin on ) . i would dress different, and even choose different food that my first character never liked!. it turned out to be my mood swings , changing from the normal person to a very hyper person, so it is a sickness my friend. i no longer flip , and when i feel that it might happen, i just dont act different , i stay acting the same way i am from first place, and i did it without meds . im ok now and there is no longer another ID about who i am

hope i helped

See a therapist, if it's multiple personality disorder (which is rare) and you're afraid robert 2 will take over and do bad things seek help to control it.

It does not mean a dual identity disorder (DID or multiple personalities).I think. If you are a teen (or even in your twenties) it sounds like a common situation wherein you are in revolt against your childhood self and parents, trying to "find yourself" and your "wings." It is complicated, I think, by the many appealing roles we see and temporarily assume, on TV and in the "movies".

I have dealt with it; when I was a teen I would go to a movie and come out of it talking like the hero (or more often the heavy) whose personality I would assume for a time. When I was in the military the "brain washing" of their indoctrination would often take over my personality. In reality we do seem to have a second personality, our unconscious or sub-conscious mind.

The psychologist Benjamin Libet won a "virtual Noble prize" from an Austrian university in 2003 for his work in investigating a phenomenon suggesting we have really no free will in our volitional acts. Prior to that the father of psychiatry, Sigmund Freud, discovered the unconscious mind in the early 20th century. Look up both these psychologists in a Yahoo! web search for more info on these intriguing aspects of the human psyche.

Good luck in your research, good mental health, peace and Love!
