Anxietyyyy?!


Question: those of you who understand, if you get random panic attacks and anxiety attacks, what do you do to calm yourself down? i get them in class sometimes and i need to know a trick to calm down. Sometimes i eat an altoid and that helps ha.

Let go. I spent years living in hell because of my anxiety. And then one day i just let go. Sometimes i still get anxiety but i no longer have the feeling of dread and fear. Believe me, i know how it feels. I used abdominal breathing to calm down, put one of your hands on your stomach and breathe in nice and slow and exhale nice and slow. This will inturn slow your respirations and pulse, which will calm you. Also, never put too much pressure on yourself. I would imainge you feel pressured cause you feel like you cant leave the room. If you have to leave, give your self a break and leave the room and regain your composure. Good luck, you'll feel better.

Honestly, I've found this to be helpful. When I feel a panic coming on.... I tell myself that it's normal for me to feel like this because I'm prone to it.... I convince myself that the feeling will pass, as it always does. And, sure enough, the panic passes. I hope this is helpful.

I concentrate on my breathing rhythm and try to relax my muscles and get calm. If I can control my breathing, I don't get the numbness, dizziness, heart palpitations and etc that really make them scary.
