This one I know a little more about. It depends on the type of epilepsy. For example, there is temporal lobe epilepsy. If it stays contained in one lobe, it is a simple partial seizure and often the person only has a sense of deja vu or sees an aura. If it generalizes to another part of the brain, say the occipital lobe, then it becomes a partial seizure. In this case, vision would be effected and it would present more like what we typically consider epilepsy. If it fully generalizes, then it can become a petite or grand mal. There are many types of seizures and they can arise from any part of the brain. TLEs are the most common loci.

Epilepsey or seizure disorder could affect just about any area of the brain but the frontal lobe is common area that is affected
